GPS Log Privacy Policy
GPS Log uses Google Analytics for tracking usage, and Crashlytics to detect crashes. This inforrmation is vital to understanding how people use GPS Log in order to improve it, and to detect and fix crashes. Data is anonimized.
GPS Log will only access photos from your photo library that you explicity add to spike content stored locally on the device. The “Add related photos” feature can be used to add relevant photos by scanning your library, any photos added in this way are displayed for you to review before saving the spike. There is no background scanning whatsoever.
Location data is only used for the creation of your content.
You can optionally sync your data (including photos and locations that you add to spike content) to our servers at Geospike. Data sync’d in this way is covered by the Geospike Privacy Policy. If you do not sync, then your photos and location information are not transmitted to our servers. Unfortunately with the current threat environment that exists online, and the number of high profile hacking incidents, we do not recommend syncing sensitive or personal data to Geospike (including but not limited to content created at private locations like your home). If you are using GPS Log for personal information, don’t sync to Geospike, and instead simply backup your device (locally or to iCloud) to preserve your content.
Spike data will be included by default in iPhone backups (iCloud and/or local). You can prevent iCloud from backing up GPS Log data by navigation to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Backup → Select your device → Toggle GPS Log.
